A three-car accident on Elmira Road in Ithaca Wednesday night claimed the life of a Tompkins County woman.
State Police say Kathy Fox of Newfield was traveling south at around 7:40 when her Ford Explorer failed to maintain its lane and struck a vehicle that had pulled over on the west shoulder of the roadway. Fox’s vehicle then traveled into the northbound lane where it struck another car.
The occupants of the car that was pulled over were not injured and the unidentified driver of the second car struck is listed in stable condition at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Fox was also taken to Upstate and later died.
The investigation is ongoing.
