The man responsible for causing a two-car accident in Yates County last July 4th that sent eight people, including a half-dozen kids, to the hospital was sentenced on Tuesday.
Back in April, Mark Cronin pleaded guilty to charges of felony vehicular assault and drunken driving after he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Second Milo and Old Bath roads and crashed into a van driven by a Dundee man. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to six months in jail, five years probation, and a loss of his license for one year.
Cronin turned down a plea deal last December that would have seen him receive one to three years in prison.
The former owner of the Showboat Motel in Himrod vacated his trustee seat on the village board in Horseheads where he lives when he entered his guilty plea to the felony charge in April.
