One of the drivers involved in a three-car accident in Yates County Saturday afternoon had to be extricated from his vehicle before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department reports that 19-year-old Brenden Manahan, of Penn Yan, was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 14A in Milo to turn into a business Friendly Motors when 82-year-old Thomas Robinson, of Springwater rear-ended his vehicle. That collision sent Manahan’s car into the northbound lane, colliding with a tractor-trailer.
Manahan, his passenger, 18-year-old Jaxson Enos, of Penn Yan, and the driver of the tractor-trailer, 60-year-old George Moore, of Branchport, were checked over at the scene and released.
After Robinson was cut out of his car by Penn Yan firefighters, he was taken by Mercy Flight to Rochester for treatment of arm injuries.
Charges are pending a further investigation.
Penn Yan and Yates County Ambulances also responded to the scene.
