For the second time in three months, the New York State Parole Board has denied parole for the Watkins Glen man convicted of killing a 15-year-old girl back in 2000.
Joshua Horein was seen by the parole board on June 20th and was denied, according to the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. He was also denied in April. Horein murdered Amber Brockway, a 15-year-old girl, in the Village of Watkins Glen on August 5, 2000. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison on April 6, 2001. He first became eligible for parole in 2019 and has been denied release on multiple occasions since then.
Horein, who was 16 when he committed the murder will next be eligible for parole in June of 2026
