If you frequently find yourself in conversations about the future of the Yates County community within the context of changes in federal and state bureaucracy, you are invited to attend an event organized by a newly formed non-partisan community group, Concerned Citizens of Yates County.
On Thursday night, a Yates County Conversation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Penn Yan. Moderator Mike Rusinko will lead a panel of community voices in a non-partisan conversation about how decisions in the federal and state governments may impact businesses and organizations in Yates County. The panel will include local experts in the areas of health care, agriculture, and small business. Organized by Concerned Citizens of Yates County. This event is free and open to the public.
The panel will include:
Klaas Martens, local organic farmer, representing agriculture
Mike Clancy, owner of Pinckney Ace Hardware, representing small business
Lauren Snyder, former Yates County Public Health director and board member of Penn Yan Manor, representing long-term health care
Mary Zelazny, CEO of Finger Lakes Community Health, representing health care.
There will also be information from a representative of veterans’ services.
Organizers say the intent is to present information in a non-partisan fashion about real or anticipated changes in federal and state funding that impact Yates County residents.
