Cornell Cooperative Extension-Yates County will host its Annual Meeting next month at the Yates County Office Building Auditorium in Penn Yan. The December 7th event will feature a light dinner as CCE reflects on 2023, presents awards, and elects new Board Members.
The event will feature guest speaker Kirsten Workman, MS, CCA (Nutrition Management & Environmental Sustainability Specialist for PRO-DAIRY). Kirsten joined the PRO-DAIRY team as the Nutrient Management and Environmental Sustainability Specialist in 2022. Prior to joining PRO-DAIRY, she spent twenty years working with farmers in Washington and Vermont, helping them improve the nutrient management and environmental sustainability of their farm businesses. She is also a Certified Crop Adviser and has a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Science in Plant and Soil Science and agronomy from the University of Vermont.
According to organizers, the event will provide a chili dinner (featuring meat, vegetarian, and gluten-free options), along with bread.
CCE-Yates County will also introduce this year’s nominees to join our Board of Directors. CCE-Yates County is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors that consists of 10 elected community volunteers. This includes people from towns throughout Yates County who bring their knowledge of community needs and concerns to the governance of this organization.
The evening will conclude with the Board of Directors meeting, which is open to the public.
