Cayuga Health CEO Named ’24 Tompkins County Distinguished Citizen

Dr. Martin Stallone, President and CEO of Cayuga Health System, has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 Tompkins County Distinguished Citizen Award. This esteemed honor is awarded annually by the Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America to individuals who have made outstanding, long-lasting impacts on their community.

In making the announcement, Baden-Powell Council said Dr. Stallone has been an integral part of the Tompkins County community for many years, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication in his role at Cayuga Heath. His visionary approach to healthcare and commitment to improving the lives of residents in the region have garnered him the respect and admiration of his peers and the community at large.

“Dr. Stallone’s contributions to Tompkins County have been transformative,” said Matthew Bull, Scout Executive at the Baden-Powell Council. “His dedication to enhancing the quality of life for our community is exemplary, and we are honored to recognize him with this award.”

In addition to his role as CEO of Cayuga Health System, Dr. Stallone is active in community initiatives, including health education programs and innovative efforts to expand access to medical services for underserved populations. His leadership has played a key role in advancing the quality and availability of healthcare in Tompkins County.

The Tompkins County Distinguished Citizen Award will be presented to Dr. Stallone at a special ceremony hosted by the Baden-Powell Council, Boy Scouts of America. The event will take place on June 10th, 2024, at Emerson Suites at Ithaca College. Members of the community, local leaders, and the Boy Scouts of America will gather to celebrate Dr. Stallone’s achievements.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said Dr. Stallone. “Serving the Tompkins County community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. I look forward to continuing my work to improve the health and well-being of our communities.”
