No serious injuries were reported after a car drove into the side of the Rite-Aid store in the village of Penn Yan late Wednesday morning.
Penn Yan Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene at around 11:40 for the report of a car into the side of the building. The vehicle sustained front-end damage but no visual outside damage was done to the exterior of the building. Inside the store, employees said there was a loud bang, and some of the makeup that was displayed on the interior of the wall that was struck crashed to the floor.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital for chest pain.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
