The Bradford Central School District has decided against consolidating with the Watkins Glen School District.
The Odessa File reports Watkins Glen Superintendent Kai D’Alleva confirmed that Bradford was in talks with several districts, including Watkins Glen, Dundee, and Campbell-Savona, but has chosen not to move forward with Watkins Glen. D’Alleva said Bradford is pursuing consolidation elsewhere, though he did not specify with which district.
Dundee Central School District also confirmed that Bradford declined consolidation discussions with them.
The two school districts had held a joint discussion on October 14 at the Bradford school cafeteria, where their Boards of Education explored what a possible partnership could look like.
No further details have been released about Bradford’s future consolidation plans.
