Bob Multer, Longest-Serving Yates Legislature Chair, Passes Away

A former Middlesex Town Supervisor and Yates County Legislature Chairman has passed away.
Robert “Bob” Multer moved to Penn Yan in 1962 and owned and operated Multer Electric. In 1974, he was elected Supervisor for the Town of Barrington and elected Chair of the Legislature, where he served for 39 years, which made him the longest-serving legislator. In 1985, Multer was elected as Supervisor in Middlesex, a role he would be re-elected to up until 2015.
In accordance with Robert’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
Robert Multer was 90 years old.
