A bicyclist was hospitalized over the weekend after being involved in a collision with a patrol vehicle from the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy was responding to a call for service at around 3:15 Saturday morning when the bicyclist, who was riding in the driving lane of State Route 415, was struck from the rear by the patrol car. The bicyclist was alert and was taken to a regional medical center by ambulance.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident.
The identities of the deputy sheriff and bicyclist have not been released.
