Penn Yan authorities are searching for a woman accused of abandoning her child in the village.
43-year-old Ashley Montgomery is wanted by the Penn Yan Police Department under a Superior Court arrest warrant. She was indicted on charges including abandonment of a child, abandonment of animals, criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Montgomery is described as 5-foot-5, 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is believed to have fled to the Baldwinsville and Syracuse areas.
Anyone with information on Montgomery’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Penn Yan Police Department at (315) 536-4426 or call 911. Police warn the public not to approach her and to leave any action to law enforcement.
