The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that happened late Friday morning in the Village of Addison.
Sheriff Jim Allard said deputies were called just after 10:40 a.m. to a financial institution on Steuben Street, where a man entered, displayed what appeared to be a firearm, and demanded money. Investigators said the suspect took more than $4,000 before leaving on foot toward Main Street, along the Canisteo River dyke behind the building.
The suspect is described as a thin white male who may have been wearing a blond wig, a black hoodie, and possibly had dark facial hair. No one was hurt, and no shots were fired.
A dark blue Dodge Caravan (pictured above) seen traveling west on County Route 119 has been identified as a vehicle of interest.
The Addison Village Police Department, New York State Police, and the FBI are assisting with the investigation. Deputies said an enhanced photo of the suspect will be released.
