One of the 82 non-profits across upstate New York that learned this week it was part of a generous donation by Rochester area philanthropist Tom Golisano is The Arc Chemung-Schuyler.

On Tuesday, Golisano announced he is donating $360 million to non-profit organizations in Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse with 26 organizations in the field of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) receiving $104 Million.

The Arc Chemung-Schuyler will be receiving a gift of $1,000,000 per year for 5 years, totaling $5,000,000.

“The entire Arc Chemung-Schuyler family is beyond grateful for the generous, and completely unexpected, donation from Tom Golisano,” shared Salvatore Garozzo, CEO of The Arc Chemung-Schuyler. “Through this funding, we can expand our efforts at improving the quality of life for the people we support and helping the service delivery system address the complex care needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
