The Arc Chemung-Schuyler is celebrating the success of its Annual Golf Tournament, held on Friday, June 27th at Willowcreek Golf Club in Big Flats. The event raised nearly $21,000 to support vital programs for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and autism in Chemung and Schuyler Counties.
Thanks to the support of 29 participating teams and generous community sponsors, the fundraiser will help provide meaningful opportunities that promote independence, skill-building, and employment readiness for those served by The Arc.
Golfers enjoyed a full day of friendly competition, on-course contests, and a chicken BBQ dinner. This year’s tournament champions, Team “Valley Boys” — made up of Rick Cruz, Robert Carnrike, Glen Carnrike, and Jory Woodward — secured the win with an impressive score of 58.
Congratulations are also in order for the winners of the on-course contests. Closest to the Pin—Women’s was Marge Tremaine and Men’s was Glen Carnrike; and Longest Drive—Women’s was Marissa Miller and Men’s was Bob Tremaine.
The tournament included a Putting Contest, sponsored by Centralus Health and OneGroup, which provided one golfer—Keith Walton—the chance to sink a 50 ft. putt for a $10,000 cash prize.
The Arc Chemung-Schuyler extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the tournament’s success.
