115th Keuka College Commencement Set for Saturday

SHARE NOW

Student speeches, an honorary degree, and hundreds of happy graduates will highlight Keuka College’s 115th Commencement on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

The ceremony, to be held on the lawn in front of Norton Chapel, will feature an address to graduates from President Amy Storey, as well as Commencement remarks from a pair of Keuka College graduating seniors.

“At Keuka College, we demonstrate our commitment to student success by placing student achievement at the center of all that we do,” said President Storey. “What better way to showcase this value than by shining the spotlight on our outstanding student speakers at the heart of our Commencement ceremony?”

Along with those speakers, the ceremony will include the presentation of an Award of Higher Education to a standout student in the College’s D.R.I.V.E. (Diversity, Responsibility, Inclusion, Vision, and Experiential Learning) Program.

In addition, longtime Board of Trustees member Don Wertman will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in recognition of his many contributions to the College and its students over the past two decades.

The College annually welcomes more than 2,000 guests to campus for Commencement, and family and friends are once again invited to celebrate the graduating class of 2024. Seating will be available on the chapel lawn on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early (parking lots open at 8:30 a.m.) and to carpool, if possible, to help avoid bottlenecks and overflow parking. In addition, the Yates County Sheriff’s Department has advised against parking along public streets and will be patrolling the area to ensure compliance.

As in years past, the ceremony will also be live-streamed so that friends and family can celebrate no matter where they are. A link will be available on the College’s homepage on the day of the ceremony.
