$100,000 in emergency spending that will be used to repair structural damage caused by a car that pushed a parked car into the wall of an Ithaca elementary school was approved by the City School District’s Board of Education.
Last Wednesday, police attempted to pull over a car speeding in the Fall Creek Elementary School area. Instead of stopping, the driver of the car, who has yet to be identified, took off and crashed into a parked car across the street from the school. The driver then used his car to push the parked car into the school twice, causing a huge hole in the side of the structure.
The $100,000 approved will be used to cover any expenses not covered by insurance.
