State Police say a Nunda man went on a violent rampage with an excavator Monday afternoon, ramming it into a home during a domestic dispute in Livingston County.
Troopers from the Geneseo barracks were called around 3:30 p.m. to a house on Upper Bean Hill Road for reports of a fight and property damage in progress.
Investigators say 37-year-old Matthew Partridge used a large excavator from his family’s business to drive straight into the house — while a 62-year-old woman and her 11-year-old relative were still inside. The crash tore through the side of the home and wrecked part of the wrap-around porch.
Police say Partridge threatened the woman as she ran for safety. When a 64-year-old male family member showed up to help, Partridge allegedly slammed the excavator into his pickup truck several times and fought with him before taking off.
Troopers and investigators later found Partridge at his mother’s home, where he was arrested with help from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
He’s charged with three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Partridge was arraigned and released while the case moves forward in court.
