Rep. Tenney Defeats Geneva’s Fratto in NY-24 Primary

SHARE NOW

The Associated Press has called the Republican primary in New York’s 24th Congressional District for Rep. Claudia Tenney.

Tenney defeated Geneva’s Mario Fratto in a rematch of the 2022 GOP primary that she also won.

The Associated Press called the race at 10 p.m., one hour after polls closed throughout New York’s massive 24th Congressional District.

Fratto challenged Tenney in 2022 in the Republican primary to represent the then-newly reshaped 24th district but lost the bid after receiving approximately 40% of the vote. Tenney would go on to defeat Democrat Steven Holden in the general election.

New York’s 24th District includes all of Cayuga, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, Ontario, Livingston, Wyoming, Genesee, almost all of Oswego, the southern half of Jefferson, the southern half of Orleans, and the eastern half of Niagara County.
