After an autopsy performed by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office on Nov. 6, the victim’s death was confirmed as a homicide.
The victim has been identified as Cheryl L. Goodberlet, age 66, of Williamson.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information or who may have observed unusual activity in the area to contact the New York State Police at 585-398-4100 or email [email protected]. Tips may be kept confidential.
The New York State Police are investigating a death at a home in the town of Williamson.
Troopers say they were called to a residence on Arrowbend Drive around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found an adult woman inside the home who was deceased and showed signs of trauma.
Police secured the residence and launched a criminal investigation. Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Troop E Major Crimes Unit, and the Forensic Investigation Unit responded to the scene.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
