Police say a woman who was involved in a car accident in Sodus Saturday night was in possession of a stolen handgun.
Sheriff’s Deputies noticed the gun on the car’s floorboard after they requested the driver get out as she attempted to back her car out of a ditch on State Route 104. As Murphy exited the vehicle, deputies observed her showing impaired motor skills, slurred speech, and glossy eyes. Deputies attempted to administer field sobriety tests to which she refused and subsequently arrested Tishia for driving while intoxicated. Murphy was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where a .22 of 1% BAC was secured.
Murphy was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and of stolen property, driving while intoxicated, operating with a .18 of 1% or more BAC, and failure to keep right.
