A 26-year-old Williamson man has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. This conviction follows a prior conviction for the sexual abuse of a minor.
The case originated in March 2024 when Microsoft alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) after detecting nine suspected child pornography files uploaded to one of its platforms. The tip was referred to the New York State Police, who traced the uploads to Joseph Hudson III. Hudson, a registered sex offender, was previously convicted of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree for sexual contact with a child under 11 years old.
A search warrant was executed at Hudson’s residence, leading to the seizure of his computer. Forensic analysis uncovered approximately 111 images and 112 videos of child pornography involving prepubescent minors, including some depicting violent abuse.
Hudson faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison, as well as a fine of up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for December 4, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.
The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police, led by Major Kevin Sucher, and Homeland Security Investigations, under Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan.
