The winners of Wayne Economic Development Corporation’s annual Pitch Competition have been announced.
Peter and Sarah Wimer took home the $20,000 grand prize for Drumlins Brewing Company. The brewery is set to open in Palmyra and will feature dedicated gluten-free beer. The first brewery in Palmyra since Prohibition, this will be the second fully gluten-free brewery in New York State. They are also working with other local breweries to develop a Brewed in Wayne beer trail.
An additional $5,000 award was presented to Jenna Mausolf of Ontario. Her WorkHer Wear venture designs and sells durable workwear exclusively for women, ensuring women in physically demanding roles have access to durable clothing.
“I continue to be impressed and inspired by the innovative spirit of Wayne County’s entrepreneurs,” said Brian Pincelli, Director of WEDC. “The success of this event is a testament to the tremendous talent we have in our community, and we’re excited to continue supporting this vital part of our economy.”
A youth pitch competition will be held in the spring.
