A Lyons man is facing murder charges in Wayne County.
Randolph Scott was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly shot and killed 40-year-old Shawn Rahn, of Lyons.
Police were called to Scott’s Maple Street apartment just after 10:30 Saturday morning after 911 calls were received that reported gunfire. Rhan’s body was found inside. Two hours after the shooting had occurred, the 37-year-old Scott was taken into custody at an adjacent residence.
The investigation is ongoing.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the New York State Police, the village of Clyde Police Department, and Wayne County EMS
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
