Waterloo Woman Charged After Toddler Found Running in Road

SHARE NOW

A Waterloo woman has been charged after deputies say her 2-year-old child was found running in the road over the weekend.

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Millard Road in the town of Waterloo. A concerned passerby saw the child running toward Route 96 and stayed with the toddler until deputies and EMS arrived. The child was not hurt.

Deputies later arrested 31-year-old Monica White and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child. She was taken to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center, processed, and released on an appearance ticket.

White is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
