Waterloo Standoff Suspect Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder Charges

SHARE NOW

A Waterloo man who opened fire on police during a standoff last spring is headed to prison for a long time.  46-year-old Randy Davis Jr. pleaded guilty Monday in Seneca County Court to three counts of attempted murder.

Prosecutors say Davis fired multiple shots at officers during an hours-long standoff back on April 1st at the Mallard Crossing mobile home park on Routes 5 and 20. No officers were hurt, and Davis eventually surrendered.

The Seneca County District Attorney’s Office says the guilty plea means Davis will likely spend about 20 years in state prison when he’s sentenced in January.
