UPDATE: All students who attend Waterloo Middle and High School were searched upon arriving at school this morning following a two-hour delay. The search was the result of an unknown type of threat the district received over the weekend. Parents received a recorded message on Saturday explaining that the buildings would be closed while police conducted a sweep.
Waterloo Schools will start Monday on a 2-hour delay while the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department and the Waterloo Police Department sweep the middle and high school buildings after a threat was received by the school district on Saturday afternoon.
Just after 2 p. m. the Waterloo School District sent out a phone message to parents in the district.
No details have been released on what or how the threat was received.
The delay Monday is for the entire school district because all the bus routes will delayed.
