Waterloo School District voters approved a $17.9 million capital improvement project yesterday. The vote was 88 in favor and 41 opposed.

The project focuses on safety and maintenance and includes work at the Bus Garage, Skoi-Yase Primary School, LaFayette Intermediate School, Waterloo Middle School, Waterloo High School and the Tom Coughlin Stadium.

Original Story-

An almost $18 million facilities improvement project is up for a vote today in the Waterloo school district.

The project calls for upgrades and health and safety improvements to be done at all four school buildings, Tom Coughlin Stadium, and the bus garage. State aid and a capital reserve fund would pay for the projects, there would be no increase in taxes.

Voting will take place until 8 tonight at the district’s office on Washington Street.
