A Waterloo man has been arrested after investigators say he used a 3D printer to manufacture guns and firearm components.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Collin Hennessy was taken into custody on Wednesday following a search of his home in the village. Deputies say the search turned up 3D printers, firearm frames and receivers, ammunition, magazines, parts kits, a silencer, and other gun-related materials.
Hennessy is charged with 11 counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon for violating the terms of an active Extreme Risk Protection Order, along with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal contempt.
Hennessy was later released on appearance tickets for Waterloo Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
