UPDATE: Car Starts Shop Fire in Waterloo

11 a.m. UPDATE:

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that at 5:39 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to John’s Auto Sales and Service at 1436 West River Road in the Town of Fayette for the reported structure fire.  Upon arrival, deputies found the business owner, Johnathan Pulver outside and he stated he was the only one inside when the fire started.

The Waterloo Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team determined the fire was accidental from a vehicle inside the business, but it is still under investigation. The building and vehicle sustained significant damage.

North Seneca Ambulance along with Mutual aid from Fayette, Seneca Falls, and Border City Fire departments responded to the scene to assist.

Just before 5:30 on Tuesday night Waterloo, Seneca Falls, and Border City Fire Departments were called 1436 West River Road in Waterloo for a report of black smoke in the air at John’s Auto Sales & Service.

The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team was called to scene to determine the cause of the fire.
