One Seneca County village is receiving a $3 million grant from the Northern Border Regional Commission.
Here is what the NBRC wrote about the funding Waterloo will receive:
“NBRC funds will be used to improve storm sewer infrastructure, road drainage, sidewalks, and curbing, ensuring resilience against frequent flooding and supporting downtown revitalization efforts. These upgrades complement the Village’s recent $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding, enhancing economic stability, pedestrian safety, and storm water management. By modernizing critical infrastructure, this project will mitigate flood risks, protect local businesses and residents, and strengthen long-term sustainability in the community.”
The funding announced on Monday by the Northern Border Regional Commission is part of $53.9 million in new awards as part of the Commission’s Spring Round competition across its Catalyst and Timber for Transit programs. The 69 awards will benefit communities throughout the Commission’s member states of Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont.
