Waterloo Animal Shelter Owner Dies

The owner and operator of the Beverly Animal Shelter in Waterloo has passed away.

75-year-old Dallyn Jenkins died on Tuesday at her home in Varick.  Jenkins was a 1967 graduate of Waterloo and graduated in 1972 from Alfred University.  She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing at California State University. While in California in the mid-1970s, she became one of the first female paramedics in LA County.

Upon returning to the Finger Lakes, she owned and operated the Beverly Animal Shelter for a number of years.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beverly Animal Shelter.
