Voters OK Proposed Marion School Capital Project

SHARE NOW

Voters in one Wayne County school district overwhelmingly approved a major, multi-million-dollar capital project on Tuesday. Marion residents approved the plan 128 to 32.

The project will overhaul key parts of the Junior–Senior High School, including full renovations to the music and ag-tech wing, roof and restroom upgrades, and improvements to bring the building up to ADA standards. The price tag is just over $24 million. Nearly $3.9 million will come from the district’s capital reserve fund, with the rest funded by taxpayers.

Work is scheduled to begin in June 2027, with completion expected in 2029.
