Victor Woman Accused of Leaving Young Child Unattended in Cold

SHARE NOW

An Ontario County woman is facing charges after police say she left a child alone inside of a car that was shutoff for almost 20 minutes on Sunday.

It is alleged Kae Deweese, of Victor, knowingly left the child in a child restraint seat in the parking lot of a Farmington supermarket while the temperature outside was 27 degrees with a 13 degree windchill.

The 38-year-old was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after her actions were deemed by the Sheriff’s Office to be injurious to the physical, mental, and moral welfare of the child who was under 17 years old.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
