UPDATE 1 P.M. (9/28): Police say 73-year-old William Fierstein and his dog were both killed in Wednesday’s accident.
One student and one adult were injured when the Wayne Central School bus they were passengers on was involved in an accident Wednesday afternoon.
Channel 10 in Rochester reports the bus was en route back to school from a field trip when it was in an accident with a car on Lake Road in Webster. The bus driver is credited with getting all 22 students and two adult passengers safely off the bus before it became engulfed in flames.
The driver of the car died at the scene and police do not know if it was the result of the accident or if they experienced a medical issue.
The student and adult were taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
