The Seneca County town that hosts del Lago Resort & Casino will once again rely on gaming revenue to cover its budget, avoiding the need for a general property tax levy in 2026.
Tyre Town Supervisor Elizabeth Partee said the 2026 tentative budget, approved by the Town Board on September 24, includes no general or highway fund tax levy thanks to expected gaming tax revenue. This will be the fourth straight year revenue from del Lago has resulted in no general or highway fund tax levy. The board will vote on adopting the preliminary budgets on October 22, following a budget workshop scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Municipal Building on Gravel Road.
Partee also noted that del Lago contributes to the town’s fire protection tax under the community mitigation plan.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the proposed 2026 budget totals $3.61 million, an increase of $56,427 over 2025. It includes $60,000 for refuse collection and $325,000 to be paid to the Seneca County Treasurer to help reduce the town’s county property tax allocation in 2026.
