    In New York, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Tompkins, and Yates Counties. In Pennsylvania, Bradford and Wyoming Counties.
    WHEN
    From 2 PM this afternoon to 2 PM EDT Saturday.
    IMPACTS
    Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    There will be several periods of stronger winds, with this afternoon seeing strong southerly winds, then a break this evening, before stronger west wind develop tonight into Saturday.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Tyre Residents Again Benefit Tax Wise Due to del Lago

For the third consecutive year, Town of Tyre property owners will not have to pay a general town tax or highway tax.

It’s a result of $2.4 million in New York State Gaming Tax Revenue the town anticipates receiving from the New York State Gaming Commission as the host town for del Lago Resort & Casino. The budget for 2025 in Tyre also now includes no tax levy for the fire protection district fund.

del Lago is also providing $325,000 for a 2026 Seneca County tax levy reduction.
