SHARE NOW

Two arrests have been made in connection with a shooting and stabbing that occurred earlier this month in the city of Geneva.

After getting into an argument with a 54-year-old man at a residence on North Genesee Street during the early morning hours of January 7th, 32-year-old Jerry Lovett, Junior, of Geneva, is accused of shooting the victim with a handgun multiple times in the face and chest. Lovett was then allegedly stabbed multiple times in the chest, thigh, hands, and legs by 53-year-old Erwin Wineglass, also of Geneva.

The shooting victim has been released from the hospital, while Lovett remains hospitalized.

Wineglass and Lovett, both convicted felons, have each been charged with felony attempted murder. Wineglass was also charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance after police say they found a large quantity of crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale, on him when he was taken into custody.
