A man and woman are facing felony charges after police say they used threats and intimidation in a scheme to steal money from a victim in Waterloo.
According to the Waterloo Police Department, 43-year-old Micheal Wade of Wolcott and 45-year-old Karrie Maslyn of Seneca Falls were arrested on August 31 following an investigation with assistance from New York State Troopers.
Police say Wade allegedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm during the incident. Officers later recovered an imitation firearm, a taser, and a knife in his possession. Wade was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree menacing, fifth-degree conspiracy, fourth-degree grand larceny, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment.
Maslyn was charged with conspiracy and fourth-degree grand larceny. Police say she was found with the stolen money at the time of her arrest.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
