Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson reports that two people from Syracuse were arrested following a stabbing at Mays Point on Thursday.
Deputies responded around 4 p.m. and found a male victim with a knife wound to the shoulder. Investigators say 53-year-old Jose Davilla-Parilla stabbed the victim during a fight, while 48-year-old Luzdeli Ramos-Acevedo allegedly took the victim’s phone to stop him from calling 911. Both suspects fled the scene but were later located with the help of Syracuse Police.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Davilla-Parilla was arraigned and held on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond. Ramos-Acevedo was released on her own recognizance. Both are scheduled to return to Tyre Town Court at a later date. A Class “A” Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
