Food trucks in downtown Geneva?
Almost.
Monday night three food vendors were operating at the Bicentennial Park on the edge of downtown Geneva.
Last month, the City Council approved a measure that could allow mobile food vendors in spots at Lakefront Park, but not on Exchange Street. The resolution needs a second approval at tonight’s meeting to become a chapter of city code.
The last significant proposal to allow mobile food trucks in the city was considered in 2012. That effort failed after a number of downtown restaurant owners told members they were opposed and City Council tabled the proposal.
The Geneva City Council meets at 7p.m. at the Public Safety Building.
