Three people have been indicted on murder and other charges in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found inside her home in Farmington in 2024.

The Ontario County District Attorney’s Office announced that indictments were filed on December 12 against Jamie Thompson, Michael Wade, and Shakeitha Scott in the death of Victoria Vitale.  13 WHAM in Rochester reports that according to court documents, prosecutors allege that between February 18 and February 19, 2024, the three suspects committed or attempted to commit a robbery that ultimately led to Vitale’s death. Vitale’s body was discovered on February 22, 2024, at her home on Terri Drive in Farmington. Authorities have not publicly released details about how she died.

Investigators say the suspects also unlawfully entered the home and stole property belonging to Vitale, including a vehicle and credit or debit cards from Chase Bank and Discover Financial Services.

All three defendants are charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and tampering with physical evidence.

An Ontario County judge ordered Thompson released Thursday to pre-trial services with electronic monitoring. In court, prosecutors said the request was unusual given the severity of the charges but indicated Thompson’s alleged role in the case appears to involve a reduced level of culpability.
