Three Arrested in Farmington Drug Sales Investigation

SHARE NOW

Three people were arrested in Farmington last week following an investigation into suspected drug sales in the area of State Route 332 and County Road 41. The Ontario County Sheriff’s office began its investigation in the fall of 2025 after receiving tips through the drug tip hotline.

It was discovered that Carie and Tod Gardner were allegedly selling crack cocaine to 28-year-old Davine McGinnis, who came to their house exclusively to buy drugs.

A search warrant for the Gardner’s County Road 41 residence was executed on Dec. 11 by the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, along with the Road Patrol and Investigations Divisions. The road and the surrounding area were closed for approximately one hour during the operation.

Carie Gardner, Tod Gardner, and McGinnis were all located at the residence and arrested for criminal sale of a controlled substance after crack cocaine was detected in the home.

All three were taken to the Ontario County Jail, where Carie Gardner and McGinnis were released following arraignment and Tod Gardner was held pending further court action.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
