F.F. Thompson Hospital is kicking off a major renovation and expansion project this month aimed at improving patient care, comfort, and access.
The multi-phase project includes key upgrades such as a new state-of-the-art MRI unit, an expanded Birthing Center, a redesigned main entrance, and relocated gift shop and chapel areas to better serve patients and visitors.
“This significant investment in our facilities is part of our commitment to delivering high-quality care in a welcoming and modern environment,” said Kurt Koczent, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Thompson Health.
Highlights of the project include:
- MRI Upgrade: A cutting-edge MRI unit will be installed to enhance diagnostic precision, reduce wait times, and improve patient comfort.
- Birthing Center Expansion: Two additional licensed labor and delivery rooms will be added to meet growing demand and improve family care.
- Gift Shop and Chapel Relocation: Both will move to more convenient, accessible locations within the hospital.
- Main Entrance Renovation: The hospital’s primary entrance will be redesigned to streamline access for patients and visitors.
While some temporary disruptions—such as construction zones, alternate entrances, and service relocations—are expected during the project, officials emphasize that essential services will not be interrupted. Safety and patient care will remain the top priority throughout the renovations.
Regular updates will be shared on the Thompson Health website and social media channels as the project progresses.
