NEWS RELEASE –

The Smith Opera House invites the community to join in celebrating its successes and future goals at the 3rd Annual “State of the Smith” Report to Our Community on Thursday, November 21st at 6:00 pm. The event will feature special guest and keynote speaker, New York State Senator Jeremy A. Cooney, recognized for his dedication to the “Alive Downtowns!” initiative, which has brought transformative funding to The Smith and other historic arts venues across New York State.

This annual gathering offers a unique opportunity to enjoy food, wine, and camaraderie with friends, supporters, and members of The Smith, as well as its staff and volunteers. The evening will include the presentation of The Smith’s 2023 Annual Report, showcasing the milestones of the past year and outlining exciting plans for the future.

“Venues like The Smith Opera House bring world-class arts and culture directly to the heart of the Finger Lakes. That’s why I’ve been proud to support them and others through the Alive Downtowns! program and why I will always support this cultural cornerstone,” Senator Cooney, a Hobart grad, said.
