The Seneca Falls Police Department arrested a 16-year-old girl on a charge of felony assault for an incident that happened on April 12th.
Officers responded to a town residence to speak with the teen after police received a report of a mental health incident taking place. Officers on the scene made the determination to take the teen into custody. While being taken into custody, the 16-year-old, whose name is being withheld due to her age, became physically uncooperative and aggressive with officers, resulting in one officer sustaining injury to their leg due to what police say were the intentional actions of the teen.
The officer was treated at an appropriate medical facility and released, pending further medical treatment. Further medical treatment determined the officer sustained a fracture from this incident.
The female was charged as an adolescent offender and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Seneca County Court-Youth Part at a later date and time.
