A judge has ordered five of the seven people charged in the murder of a transgender man from Minnesota to provide DNA samples.
Those defendants are Kyle Sage, Jennifer Quijano, Patrick Goodwin, Kimberly Sochia, and Emily Motyka. Prosecutors say they, along with Precious Arzuaga and Thomas Eaves, tortured and killed 24-year-old Sam Nordquist at Patty’s Lodge in Hopewell back in February. Nordquist’s body was later found in a field in Yates County.
All seven suspects face multiple charges, including first- and second-degree murder. Prosecutors say they already have DNA from Arzuaga and Eaves.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
