Suspect in North Carolina Shooting Arrested in Seneca Falls

SHARE NOW

A North Carolina man wanted in connection with a violent shooting earlier this year has been arrested in the Finger Lakes.

Seneca Falls Police took 23-year-old Jamel Spence into custody Tuesday morning after discovering he was wanted on a warrant from North Carolina.

According to Queen City News, Spence was identified as one of four suspects in a March 17 shooting at a Concord home that injured two children and a young man. He was charged with felony conspiracy to discharge a weapon.

Court records show Spence was on supervised probation following a 2025 conviction, but allegedly stopped reporting to his probation officer earlier this month. With Spence now in custody in Seneca County, Queen City News reports North Carolina authorities are expected to seek extradition and file a felony probation violation charge.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
