One of the five suspects charged in the murder of Sam Nordquist in Ontario County is a registered Level Three sex offender.
Patrick Goodwin, of Canandaigua, was convicted in 2015 of sexually abusing a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. He was sent to prison for just over ten years in 2015. NewsChannel 8 in Rochester reports Goodwin was released and placed on parole in June of 2023.
Another suspect, Kyle Sage of Rochester, was convicted of larceny and disseminating indecent material to a minor. He was also on parole when arrested last week. A third suspect, Precious Arzuaga, also of Canandaigua, has four misdemeanor convictions for crimes involving trespass and larcenies.
Nordquist was living with Arzuaga at Patty’s Place in Hopewell before his being reported missing by family members in Minnesota who hadn’t heard from him since January. The 24-year-old’s body was found in a field in Yates County last Thursday.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
