A Geneva man with a long history of arrests is facing new charges after city police say he stole property from a vehicle earlier this month.
Around 1 a.m. Friday, officers arrested 36-year-old Jonathan Toledo and charged him with petit larceny. The arrest follows a September 13 complaint that property was taken from a vehicle parked behind 87 Castle Street. Surveillance video from the rear lot led investigators to identify Toledo as the suspect.
Toledo had already been arrested earlier this week for allegedly stealing a donation jar from a Geneva business. Police records show he was arrested 14 times in 2024 on theft and drug-related charges.
Following Friday’s arrest, Toledo was processed at the Geneva Police Department and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment. He was released without bail and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
